Scientists & Engineers for America (SEA) is building a national coalition of students who are interested in supporting strong science & technology policies for America. Students may form an official SEA Student Chapter on their campus or participate individually through the SEA Virtual Intern Program.
The objectives for SEA’s National Student Coalition are as follows:
- Educate students about the role of scientists and engineers in politics and policy making.
- Motivate and prepare students to pursue educational opportunities and careers in science and technology policy.
- Cultivate innovative ideas for improving science and technology policies in America.
SEA provides guidance and support for students to explore their interests in a wide range of science and technology issues, from renewable energy to health care to cybersecurity. Participating students research and track relevant policies, contribute to newsletters, blogs, and other forms of mass communications, host events, participate in online seminars, and communicate with other students and the public. SEA also organizes regular DC Visit Weeks, where students travel to DC where they meet with key policy makers, professional societies, government representatives, and members of industry.
